TREBLE

Basic Heavy Shoe move in Irish Step Dancing.

Synonyms: Treble, Rally, Shuffle, Emerly, Batter

== Execution ==

Brush the ball of the front foot out to the front and back, creating 2 sounds - which should have rather a "hitting" character than a "brushing" character.

Trebles can be done in any Heavy Shoe dance, in numerous varations of speed, timing and location of "trebling foot".

== Variations ==

Fast Treble: Fast Trebles are an advanced variation of the combination "(down) treble hop step". While in the usual execution, there would always be the same time interval between the beats (1-2-3-4-5), in Fast Trebles, the first beat is syncopated - meaning it lasts longer than the rest of the beats, but the combination still fills the same timespan as the slow version. The rhythm changes into "1 --- 2345". Fast Trebles can be done in front, font to back, underneath ("Back Treble"), and back to front.

Back Treble: Another advanced version of "treble hop step". Back Trebles are executed underneath the "standing leg" (which at that moment is in the air performing a "hop"). Execution: 1. hop up on your standing leg 2. while in the air, treble your acting leg under the elevated standing leg 3. land on your standing leg 4. put down active leg behind (say: "treble hop back")
